About
Who I Am
I want Best Bits Worldwide to be the home for the passionate explorer who savors the authentic but also loves the luxurious.
An American living in London, travel writer and blogger, I have visited almost 50 countries and still counting.
Born in New York City, but brought up on the Main Line, with the distinction of having every school I attended in the Preppy Handbook, even nursery school! I graduated from Princeton and Cambridge and pursued a career in acting. This led to my producing, adapting and starring in the New York Fringe Festival’s hugely popular version of Debbie Does Dallas – which subsequently became an Off-Broadway musical! Moved to London and have been pushing the boundaries ever since.
I know I’m not alone in feeling a tingle of excitement when sashaying up to the saloon and ordering a Sazarac. Cocktail culture is quickly overtaking the food craze; creative connoisseurs are emerging and we are the lucky ones. These masterminds of mixology deserve not only our respect, but also our individual attention.
My work has been published in many off-line and online publications including the following: Condé Nast Traveler, Grazia UK, Mail on Sunday, Trivago.com, Vanity Fair Italia, You Magazine. I was chosen to participate in Bloghouse and I am a member of Professional Travel Bloggers Association and the British Guild of Travel Writers.

Why I Do This
When I was 13, I saw Venice for the first time and immediately fell in love with La Serenissima, thus I knew then and there that my stay at home days were over. It was always a dream to see the whole world and after a medical scare in 2012, I am making that happen. With a well-worn copy of Freya Stark’s autobiography in my back pocket, I have set out to bring you the Best Bits this world had to offer.
Guidebooks and online searches don’t always have those certain somethings that make a place special – the Best Bits. Where to escape the hot sun over Hanoi while sipping the Vietnamese version of iced cappuccino…the out of the way ice cream that can’t be missed on all those work trips to Milan…the drive that beats all others when heading toward the Grand Canyon. Those are the Best Bits you want to know about whether it’s your first time or your one hundredth visiting a place.

Why Work With Us
- “There’s nothing I look forward to more than Susan’s tour of the great cocktail salons of the world! Her interviews with some of the best mixologists who truly know their craft–the history, the brands–are a sheer delight to discover and savor, along with the many cocktails to which I have been introduced. This is a smart blog for smart people who love smart drinks; it’s also good old-fashioned entertainment, a trip down memory lane, and a travelogue of the world’s best culture. Invaluable, fun and edifying, this blog, like Susan herself, is an absolute joy! I never miss an episode!” Theo, New York City
- There were a few reasons why we chose to work closely with Best Bits Worldwide based in London. I was looking for first hand reports & impressions during the peak travel time of the year (New Year’s Eve) by world traveled experts. Bloggers give their readers & followers a realistic, trustworthy, “uncovered” story and this over a longer period of stay. Each blogger has his own large group for followers based on different age groups, gender or simply different interest groups. But for Layana Resort & Spa they have all one thing in common, they love travel, want to experience luxury and this off the beaten tourist paths. Hence, Susan Schwartz, was our perfect match. Stefan Heintze – General Manager, Layana Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta, Thailand
- Working with Susan from Best Bits Worldwide was a pleasure from start to finish. We often work with bloggers with a passion for food and travel, and Susan certainly fit that profile. She was professional throughout, starting by clearly explaining how our partnership would work and the timeline we could expect from her. The quality of the post she produced was excellent, and the interaction between her brand and ours continues to this day on social media. We would definitely work with Susan again!
