A Bit of America: New York

You walk into a dreamlike space where everything is beautiful prints and fabric heart covered walls.  The items are made of primarily cottons and a few wools but very much for the girl who lives in warm climes.  The fabric colors, cuts and design are so simply breathtaking that you understand the price attached.  The attention to detail is what you come in for and are seduced by.  Pop in here or their store in LA to see what I am going on about.

A Bit of America: Las Vegas

It’s crazy that I have never been here.  I love everything tacky, big and over the top.  It just has never worked out.  My first impression was GET ME OUTTA HERE.  After being on the road all day and coming from God’s country, it was understandable.  A tidal wave of people, glitz and gaudiness poured over us …then I slowly got into the groove and was able to appreciate it for what it was….Vegas.  We were only there overnight but we tried to do as much as we could…even a stint at the pool under the hot sun.

A Bit of America: Sedona to Grand Canyon

TO AND FRO THE GRAND CANYON
The drive from Sedona to Flagstaff on the 89A is one of the prettiest scenic routes in Arizona and – in a state where the Grand Canyon sits – that is saying something. From the red rocks of Sedona up 2000 ft to the Oak Creek Vista, to the incredible-ness of the Grand Canyon then onto Las Vegas.  It’s so worth it.

A Bit of America: Sedona

THE MAGNIFICENT SEDONA
For years, Sedona, in my mind, was always where U2’s Concert At Red Rocks was held.  Don’t know why as that concert was filmed in Colorado.  It was the beauty of the surrounding landscape that made me think Sedona..and I wanted to be there, with or without U2. (Couldn’t help myself!)  Was it the same..you’re asking me?

A Bit of America: Pheonix to Sedona

“Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.” Frank Lloyd Wright
As we ventured north on our way to the Grand Canyon, we took some time to relax and enjoy ambling between Phoenix and Sedona.

A Bit of America: Tucson

One of my dream trips: see the Grand Canyon and see the Grand Canyon we did (the Cypriot chaperoned me to make sure I wasn’t one of the 250 idiots who need to be rescued every year).  We started our journey in the university town of Tucson and worked our way up the state to the Grand Canyon, hitting Phoenix, Jerome, Sedona, Flagstaff and then headed west to finish off in Vegas.   Words and pictures cannot describe how incredible the landscape is…it’s no wonder that Frank Lloyd Wright, Max Ernst and other artists made it their home.  The food ain’t bad either.
